Throwback Travel – Kuala Lumpur

This was an impromptu road trip to Kuala Lumpur. We were leaving for Jakarta in 5 days’ time but the wait became boring during the festive period. So we decided to make our way to Kuala Lumpur for a Christmas long weekend. We realized many people had similar plans because the traffic was extremely congested.

It was late afternoon when we reached Impiana KLCC Hotel. We got this hotel in Kuala Lumpur for its close proximity to Suria KLCC shopping mall and Petronas Twin Towers Kuala Lumpur.

Instead of visiting our usual shopping and food hunts around Jalan Bukit Bintang area, we just stayed around KLCC area this time. Man, the mall was packed with people while the stores were displaying red signs and banners which spelt ‘SALE’ or ‘DISCOUNT’.

There was a nice gigantic Christmas tree with attractive decors at the centre of the mall. I believe the giant tree is an annual feature like the one at Ngee Ann City in Singapore.

Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur

After checking out the next day, we stopped by Sunway Lagoon before heading back home. Likewise, it was damn crowded and an available parking lot was hard to find. Here are some random pictures were taken while we were there.

When we cleared the Malaysia custom side, we found ourselves in one hell of a queue to Singapore custom. It was almost 2 hours later when we were finally cleared to go. No more road trips up north during festive long weekends for us anymore.
