Sea World and Harbour Town Outlet

Sea World was the next theme park which we visited other than Warner Bros. Movie World during our Gold Coast trip. The main draws here are definitely the sea animals such as penguins, seals, dolphins, stingrays and the sharks. The kids can spend one whole day just by looking, or rather, staring at them. However, I suppose their favourite animal activities would be the feeding time and the entertaining live shows. The first stop was none other than to see the penguins and their feeding presentation at 10:15 am.

Thereafter, we grabbed our seats and waited for the Affinity Dolphin presentation to begin at 11:15 am. This show is one of the main attractions of Sea World where the dolphins dazzle the audience with their acrobatic acts. Itâ€™s definitely a crowdâ€™s favourite and the seats filled up rather quickly.

Next up was yet another Dolphin show at 12:30 pm where some participants get up close and personal with the playful animal. We stayed on to watch for a while before heading for lunch.

There was some time to kill before the next Seal Guardians show at 14:30 pm, so to kiddy rides we went.

The Seal Guardians show was entertaining and hilarious that the kids were still talking about it after the show.

The last presentation for us at 15:00 pm was at Ray Reef where we got to feed the Stingrays with small fishes. We spent almost the whole day here at Sea World and had so much fun. The kids truly enjoyed themselves that they asked whether we are coming back again LOL.

Harbour Town Outlet Shopping

Harbour Town is known to be the largest outlet mall in Australia so I suppose we should check it out. The drive to Harbour Town took us around 20 minutes and the parking is free. It definitely looks like a popular place for both the locals and tourists alike, judging by the crowd that day. The place is spacious and has a similar setup like most other outlet malls. There are international brands which are commonly seen at the outlet mall such as Armani, Boss, Calvin Klein, Coach, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren alongside with Australian brand like UGG.

I have thought the ladies in the group will be spending substantial time around here while I find something for the kids to do. But that did not happen and they mentioned that the outlet price was rather disappointing when compared to those in Europe or the USA. Anyhow, that’s good news for a hungry me and it’s off to Peterâ€™s Fish Market for another seafood fix.

Warner Bros Movie World and SkyPoint

Warner Bros. Movie World was one of the two theme parks which we visited during our Gold Coast trip. This is the place for fans of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and other superheroes from DC Comics. Besides the superheroes, there are also the funny ones from Looney Tunes Cartoon such as Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck and many more which I can no longer remember their names. The movie related theme park features thrilling rides, entertaining shows and kidsâ€™ stuff catering to different age group.

It would be wise to purchase the Warner Bros. Movie World ticket online to skip the queue while saving some bucks as the price is cheaper than buying on site.

The thrilling Superman Escape and Batwing Spaceshot are in sight upon entering. Superman Escape ride is known for its bursting speedy ride which goes from 0-100km/h in less than two seconds! This is seriously fast and definitely not for the faint-hearted but the adrenaline rush is superb! The Batwing Spaceshot looks to be equally exciting too.

Itâ€™s a given to visit Kids WB Fun Zone since weâ€™re here with kids. The fun rides here are certainly more suitable for the young ones. Speedy Taxi was my boyâ€™s favourite ride and he went twice. The Looney Tunes cartoon characters will be walking around for photo-op but my boy did not want to be anywhere near them LOL.

The All-Star Parade is where we saw most of the main characters appearing alongside their vehicles. It can get very crowded around Main Street where the parade will pass by.

The kids enjoyed themselves but complained about the â€˜short visitâ€™ as the park closes at 5 pm, relatively early for a theme park I suppose. In the midst of queueing up and what not, we even missed out on the â€œHollywood Stunt Driverâ€ show. Hence, do come early to maximize the visit to Warner Bros. Movie World.

Skypoint Observation Deck

Skypoint Observation Deck is located on top of the Q1 Building at Surfers Paradise Boulevard. Its lifts transport visitors from the ground floor up to Level 77 in double quick time. What awaits us outside the lift was a scenic 360-degree panorama view of the surrounding and beyond. The endless stretch of beachline looks amazing against the Pacific Ocean that fades into the horizon. I chose to visit around an hour before sunset and managed to catch the orangey glow. Nice!

Another highlight here is the SkyPoint Climb where visitors get to step outside and visit the rooftop area with a guide. I skipped this as climbers are not allowed to bring along their own cameras (from a safety point of view).

The views are absolutely stunning especially when the city lights up just before the night falls. This alone makes the trip here worthwhile for me.

Dinner at Pancakes on the Rocks

I enjoyed a great meal at Pancakes on the Rocks during my Sydney trip. Their branch at Surferâ€™s Paradise branch is a relatively short drive from Skypoint, so why not? Despite their name, they do serve other mains other than just pancakes. The meal did not disappoint and we had a satisfying dinner before heading back to our Airbnb apartment.
