Paradise Country Farm in Gold Coast

We made our way to Paradise Country Farm the next morning after a good breakfast at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. The Farm visit was initially not on my itinerary and I have planned to spend the day at Dream World. More so, when Paradise Country Farm is located near to Warner Bros. Movie World which probably makes more sense to combine the visits to save on travel time. But the kids clearly prefer seeing and feeding the animals than doing the rides. Henceforth, it will be an Aussie farm experience just outside the city area.

There is some walking from the carpark to the entrance but the kids’ faces are brimmed with anticipation LOL.

Needless to say, the first stop was to see how baby animals are fed. We were given the opportunity to bottle feed a few baby goats and the kids were delighted.

Next up would be meeting with the Kangaroos, which we missed out on this bouncy animal back at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Both Koala Bear and Kangaroos are Australia’s national treasures. The Kangaroo is even featured alongside an emu at The Coat of Arms of Australia. And the symbolic animal also found its way to being the logo of Qantas Airways, Australia’s flag carrier. The ones here are very friendly too!

We went over to the Arena to catch the next Stock Horse show. Complimentary Billy Tea and Damper were given out during the show. This is also where the horses and their trainers ride around obstacles while providing plenty of fun to the audiences.

The Stockman show is next so we stayed put and waited. Here’s where they will show the use of Boomerang and whip. But most importantly, how the sheepdogs performed their talent in rounding up the sheep. This is funny because there will always be a few black sheep (pun intended LOL) who will not cooperate.

The next activity, sheep shearing takes place indoor at Shearing Shed. The shearer was both funny and skillful that makes it such a joy to watch. More so, at how the sheep has cooperated throughout the show. He also shared about the wool production process during the show.

There is even an Opal Mine for those who want to try their luck in digging out some gemstones for a souvenir. We did not try this and some of the other attractions here. Still, the kids enjoyed themselves and had so much fun throughout the day. Paradise Country Farm is indeed a great place to bring the little ones along with so many activities and shows that can keep them entertained.

The last place we stopped by before dinner was at Surfer’s Paradise to have some sandy fun. It was crazily windy that evening but that did not spoil the fun for us at all!

Sea World and Harbour Town Outlet

Sea World was the next theme park which we visited other than Warner Bros. Movie World during our Gold Coast trip. The main draws here are definitely the sea animals such as penguins, seals, dolphins, stingrays and the sharks. The kids can spend one whole day just by looking, or rather, staring at them. However, I suppose their favourite animal activities would be the feeding time and the entertaining live shows. The first stop was none other than to see the penguins and their feeding presentation at 10:15 am.

Thereafter, we grabbed our seats and waited for the Affinity Dolphin presentation to begin at 11:15 am. This show is one of the main attractions of Sea World where the dolphins dazzle the audience with their acrobatic acts. It’s definitely a crowd’s favourite and the seats filled up rather quickly.

Next up was yet another Dolphin show at 12:30 pm where some participants get up close and personal with the playful animal. We stayed on to watch for a while before heading for lunch.

There was some time to kill before the next Seal Guardians show at 14:30 pm, so to kiddy rides we went.

The Seal Guardians show was entertaining and hilarious that the kids were still talking about it after the show.

The last presentation for us at 15:00 pm was at Ray Reef where we got to feed the Stingrays with small fishes. We spent almost the whole day here at Sea World and had so much fun. The kids truly enjoyed themselves that they asked whether we are coming back again LOL.

    Harbour Town Outlet Shopping

Harbour Town is known to be the largest outlet mall in Australia so I suppose we should check it out. The drive to Harbour Town took us around 20 minutes and the parking is free. It definitely looks like a popular place for both the locals and tourists alike, judging by the crowd that day. The place is spacious and has a similar setup like most other outlet malls. There are international brands which are commonly seen at the outlet mall such as Armani, Boss, Calvin Klein, Coach, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren alongside with Australian brand like UGG.

I have thought the ladies in the group will be spending substantial time around here while I find something for the kids to do. But that did not happen and they mentioned that the outlet price was rather disappointing when compared to those in Europe or the USA. Anyhow, that’s good news for a hungry me and it’s off to Peter’s Fish Market for another seafood fix.
